*Finally! Treo Nitro: First Great Images!
I am in heaven… Finally someone has been able to take a few good quality pictures of the forthcoming and anxiously anticipated Treo “Nitro” running PalmOS which will likely be released by Cingular in the US and Orange in Europe in the coming months.* http://blog.treonauts.com/TreoNitroNow06.jpg As previously posted, the “Nitro” model will be the first slim(mer), antenna-less, PalmOS powered, 3G (high speed wireless data) Treo smartphone – at last! http://blog.treonauts.com/TreoNitroNow01.jpghttp://blog.treonauts.com/TreoNitroNow02.jpg
*There are not many technical details to share at this point but rumours are that this model will have:
A 1200mAh battery compared to 1800mAh on the Treo 650/700
64MB User Available Memory
Runs PalmOS version 5.49016
Camera is 0.3MP (like Treo 650) NOT 1.3MP (like Treo 700p/w)
Stylus is rubber on the upper part (instead of all metal)
SIM card is loaded on the side instead of top (see images below)
ACCESS (PalmOS) trademark is everywhere in the software

http://blog.treonauts.com/TreoNitroNow03.jpg It’s interesting to see that Palm have designed a new side loading SD card slot – presumably because of the constraints of a slimmer casing – and this is something that will undoubtedly appeal to those Treonauts whose SD cards had a bad habit of inadvertently popping out… There is no doubt that with the purchase of a 4GB card (up to 8GB hopefully by the end of this year) most people will be able to have all of the data that they need with them at all times… http://blog.treonauts.com/TreoNitroNow04.jpg From a design perspective, the chrome side band (above) appears to be wider than on the Treo 700p/w while the back (below) has a centered camera lens and speaker as well as a bottom battery cover latch. http://blog.treonauts.com/TreoNitroNow05.jpg It might be too early to tell because I haven’t yet held one of these Treo “Nitro” in my hands but from the pictures alone I absolutely LOVE it! I have been clamoring for a slimmer antenna-less Treo for so long that I just cannot wait to own and use it every day… Hopefully I won’t have to wait too much longer…
